The second level coaching program, organized by the Ethiopian Aquatics Federation, has been successfully concluded

This comprehensive training, spanning ten days from September 30th to October 9th, 2023, was held at the prestigious Gion Hotel in Addis Ababa.

Mrs. Meseret Demissu, the president of the federation, recognized that despite its long-standing presence, the Ethiopian Aquatics Federation has encountered significant challenges in meeting the nation’s expectations. The scarcity of essential infrastructure and qualified coaches has impeded progress and the realization of the federation’s true potential. Thus, the primary objective of this training program was to tackle one of these key challenges head-on.

In her address, Mrs. President passionately emphasized the critical importance of incorporating swimming as a core curriculum in various universities across the country. She called upon the dedicated trainees to assume the noble responsibility of nurturing and developing the future generation of swimming enthusiasts and champions.

The training program witnessed enthusiastic participation from a diverse group of twenty-one individuals representing different regions, city administrations, and universities. Among these dedicated participants, an impressive sixteen individuals successfully completed the rigorous coursework and practical assessments, thereby meriting the coveted certification.

This accomplishment marks yet another significant milestone in the Ethiopian Aquatics Federation’s ongoing commitment to enhancing swimming expertise and capacity throughout the nation. It is through such dedicated initiatives that we shall stride forth towards a future where Ethiopia’s swimmers can compete on the global stage, with pride and excellence.
